Each year, AMAS receives various requests from campus management for services that are more advisory in nature than traditional audits.  The management advisory services category provides AMAS the opportunity to partner with management to identify solutions for management issues as they arise, and to ensure consideration of related internal control issues in the process.  Following are some examples of advisory services:

CONSULTATIONS  Generally defined as services that we can provide in twenty hours or less, consultations include requests for opinion, policy and/or process reviews, issue resolution support, etc.

COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION  AMAS provides input on a range of topics via committee participation in either a committee member or advisory member capacity.

SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT / RE-ENGINEERING TEAM SUPPORT  AMAS also participates in special committees providing a disciplined approach for systems development or process re-engineering.

BUSINESS PROCESS SELF ASSESSMENT (BPSA)  AMAS in partnership with the campus Controller's Office provides tools for academic departments to assess their departmental activities via the Campus BPSA Program.

TRAINING  Classes provided through UCSD Staff Education & Development.  Classes in which AMAS is involved are described on our Training page.
